12 month old hemoglobin test for lead and anemia??

There's nothing wrong with the test, the thing that bothers you is that you don't want your child to have a needle in his arm. This is kind of a new test that some Dr's are recommending. At 1 year old Dr wants to know what is the health of your baby and just wants to know if he maybe has anemia, remember that at 1 year babies can start eating many things and Dr can recommend a good diet. Those are rutinary tests, there's nothing to worry about. If you don't him to test then talk to your Dr and ask the reasons why he thinks the test must be done. When my daughter was born she had jaundice and had to be put under the lights, the took blood everyday for 5 days and she was 3 days old. I cried more than she did, she barely fussed, so relax a bit.
