Sytem resttore ruined my laptop?

Do you have the recovery disc? I am uming that you tried to do a full system restore to factory settings. If you had the recovery disc and used it all should be well again. I was fixing a very old laptop computer that had XP on it and when I did a system restore on it, it did the same thing. I tried to use a recovery disc that just had XP on it (bad idea btw, but I had no other choice) and that did the same thing that it did on your computer. I ended up using a recovery disc that had vista on it and that seemed to fix it. XP seems to be a pain in the to do a system restore if you don't have your recovery disc. You might be able to order a recovery disc from the manufacturer, but if it is not in warranty, they'll probably charge you.
