Good Breed as First Horse?

I personally do not like ponies, I have nothing against people who do, but My experience is that ponies are often bratty. I AM NOT saying that all ponies are but I would much rather have a full-sized horse than to hunt down every pony I see for sale looking for the one that behaves. Your size really shouldn't matter, I am 5'6" and I have two 15 hand horses, a 14.3 mare, and a filly that will mature to around 15.3, and the pony cut off is at 14.1 hands. I would recommend a stock type horse like a Quarter horse, Paint, or an Appaloosa. If yoiu really want a pony I would recommend a Quarter pony cuz they tend to be more level-headed. Hope I helped =)
